what is cosplay
Cosplay is short for "costume play" i.e. dressing up, and even role-playing a character from an anime, manga, movie, book etc. It originated in Japan, though I'd say that there is a Western equivalent in the people who dress up for conventions for Star Wars, Marvel and the like. Imitation is just a universal form of paying tribute to a creation that one likes.me
I'm not too prolific a cosplayer; the number of times I've cosplayed hasn't run into double digits yet. It always happens that cosplays fall on dates where I happen to be out of the country. The first cosplay I attended was the Miyuki one in December 2000. Got hooked then.
